On October 3rd, I donated winter materials that I collected for homeless shelters :)
The other day, I was at home thinking about how cold my feet were. I put on socks and turned the heater on for my house. It was September, so it was starting to get cold. But then, I was thinking, people around the world right now will be freezing during this winter. To make things worse, there are even more people out on the streets because of COVID and this winter will be unpredictable. The main idea was that people might not be donating because of the virus and people can be cold. Freezing. Not to mention children out there. So, from that, I decided to run a small drive within my neighborhood. There was a box in front of my house to drop the materials, and after the deadline, I kept them in my basement for 5 days to get rid of the possibility of the virus on them. We donated things like coats, winter jackets, sweaters, sheets, pillowcases, socks, gloves, hats, and scarves. It felt so nice to donate all of it :) We proved that our helping hands aren’t inaccessible even during weird times like this.
Here are a few pictures! We even met a homeless man when we were getting things into the shelter
